Kate Harrington
Kate Harrington is a Human Resources Manager who works with the Smith College community on the recruitment and selection of top candidates. Kate believes that finding the right person for the job isn't about a particular task or technical skill on a resume but about how they can shape and add to the culture of your workplace.
Kate has worked in non-profit and corporate settings in human resources with a focus on learning and development, recruitment and selection, integrated disabilities management, and employee relations. She holds a B.A. in Communication Studies with a focus on public relations, and a M.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Rhode Island.
Kate will help us to:
Get a great, diverse applicant pool
Know what questions we should really be asking
Understand what questions to avoid
Know what to look for in a great employee
How to watch for bias
